Doug attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and graduated with a B.S. in Athletic Training and Health Education. While at UNL, Doug was a student Athletic Trainer for the Husker athletic department and served on the staff his final year. Doug was accepted into the Physical Therapy program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and graduated with a Master of Physical Therapy degree in May 1993. Since graduation, Doug has lived in Norfolk and has been with Heartland Physical Therapy since 1995. Doug has continued his education through numerous post graduate courses in orthopedic physical therapy and has achieved a Certificate in Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment of the Spine through the McKenzie Institute of North America and also is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. In 2005 Doug received his Board Certification in Sports Physical Therapy from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. Doug is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the Nebraska Chapter of the APTA, the National Athletic Trainers' Association, the NSATA and National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Tim Ellis, MS, ATC
Tim joined Heartland Physical Therapy in September 2001 after serving as the Manager of Sports Medicine Outreach for Sports Medicine Center in Omaha since 1990. Tim is a veteran athletic trainer/health educator. Tim received a Bachelor of Arts in Education degree from Wayne State College, Wayne, Nebraska in 1978, a Master of Science degree in Exercise Science from University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1981, is nationally certified in athletic training from the National Athletic Trainers' Association and is licensed in athletic training by the Nebraska State Department of Health. Tim served as Head Athletic Trainer, Associate Athletic Director and Assistant Professor while at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa for nine years before joining the Sports Medicine Center. A native Northeast Nebraskan from Plainview, Tim and his wife Judy have four children, Grant, Trent, Tyler and Kelsey.
Kurt Schmoldt, MS, ATC
Kurt joined Heartland Physical Therapy in 2004 after serving as Head Athletic Trainer at Wayne State College since 2001. Prior to Wayne State College, Kurt served as Senior Athletic Trainer for Sports Medicine Center in Omaha for seven years. Kurt received his Bachelor of Arts in Education Degree from Wayne State College in 1991 and his Master of Science Degree in Health and Human Performance with an emphasis in Sports Medicine from Fort Hays State University in 1992. Kurt is nationally certified in Athletic Training from the National Athletic Trainers' Association and is licensed in Athletic Training by the Nebraska State Department of Health. Kurt is a native of Tilden, Nebraska. Kurt and his wife, Janet, have two children, Eric and Amanda.
Kris Luellman, ATC
Kris is a native of South Dakota where he graduated from Huron High School. While in high school, Kris participated in football, wrestling and baseball. Prior to joining Heartland Physical Therapy in 2004, Kris served as an Athletic Trainer for Black Hills Orthopedic and Spine Center in Rapid City, South Dakota for three years and as an assistant Athletic Trainer at Huron University for one year. Kris received his Bachelor of Arts in Sports Medicine with an Athletic Training concentration from Dakota Wesleyan University in 2000. Kris participated in baseball for Dakota Wesleyan Tigers. Kris is nationally certified in Athletic Training from the National Athletic Trainers' Association, licensed in Athletic Training by the Nebraska State Department of Health and the South Dakota State Department of Health. Kris and his wife Becky have two sons, Kieren and Kaden and a daughter, Kaylor.
Andrea Blecke, PT/ATC
Andrea is originally from Wakefield, NE. She recieved a B.S. from Wayne State College in Psychology and Biology in 2000 and became a Certified Athletic Trainer in 2001. Andrea graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2003 with a Master of Physical Therapy degree and completed the transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy Program in 2005. Since graduating she has worked in outpatient orthopedic clinics in Omaha and Wayne and has provided occasional athletic training services for high school and collegiate teams. Andrea is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Nebraska Chapter of the APTA.
Jon Hausmann, PT/ATC
Jon is originally from Bonesteel, South Dakota. He received his undergraduate degree from Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, South Dakota in 1995 majoring in biology with a dual minor in athletic training and psychology. He also became a Certified Athletic Trainer in 1996 and worked in several different settings for 9 years. He was then accepted into the Physical Therapy Program at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion where he received his Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree in 2008. As a dual credentialed provider, Jon continues to have a strong interest in athletic rehabilitation as well as general orthopedics. Jon is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the Nebraska Physical Therapy Association, the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and the Nebraska Athletic Trainers’ Association. Jon and his wife, Angie reside in Norfolk and enjoy spending time with their daughter, Tatum and son, Carson. |
